Whittier Street Health Center's specialized clinics focus on helping individuals facing disease, chronic illness or disability learn to live with and understand their illness in individual and group settings. Through the clinics, participants develop healthy living habits to control their disease, illness or disability. Below, please find a list of specialized clinics with meeting times.

Diabetes Clinic: The Diabetes Multidisciplinary Clinic is open every Friday from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon, and allows diabetic patients to receive comprehensive care by the diabetes care team, which consists of providers, nurses, a clinical pharmacist, nutritionist, and foot specialist. There is a walk-in dental and eye clinic for diabetic patients during the clinic hours. Asthma Clinic: The multidisciplinary Asthma Clinic is open every week on Wednesday from 3:00 pm - 4:45 pm. The pediatrician and the clinical pharmacist provide medication management and asthma education. Contact: Adeola Ogungbadero at 617-989-3030.
Pediatric and Adult Healthy Weight Clinics: At the healthy weight clinic, patients who are either overweight or obese are counseled and educated on nutrition related topics and exercises. The healthy weight clinic meets every Monday afternoon from 3:15 pm - 4:45 pm. Contact: Erica Fernandez at 617-989-3147.
Race around Roxbury: Whittier’s Race around Roxbury is an exercise program targeted at overweight and at risk adolescents and is tied to Whittier’s Pediatric Healthy Weight Clinic. The program is focused on providing education for adolescents regarding healthy eating habits, exercise, and self-esteem issues and includes regular group visits. Race Around Roxbury runs throughout the year and youth can sign up at any point in the program. Whittier Street Health Center pays for the participants' membership at the local YMCA and the top three participants receive a small financial incentive every quarter.
