Physical Fitness for All

Exercise is a necessity and should be prioritized in order to achieve and maintain a healthy mind and body. The American Heart Association recommends 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise + 2 days of muscle strengthening for Cardiovascular Health.

Example: 30 minutes brisk walking 5 days per week + 2 yoga classes.

How and Why do Whittier St. Wellness and Fitness Club members stay fit?

“Since I’ve been coming to the gym and seeing Rachel for Nutrition I lost 21 lbs!  I don’t even crave for rice, fried foods and soda.  Eating better has gotten rid of my headaches, knee pain and given me more energy. I lift weights at least 4 days per week and now do yoga which I never thought I would do. Ashley is great and really motivates me in class.” –Raul Maestre

“I stay active and come to the gym to do weights and the bike for my knees so that I can keep moving and do things that I want to do.” –Ada Caraballo

“I’m motivated to lose weight for myself. Exercising at the gym, walking, eating right, and the Zumba program helped me lose 118lbs! I’m happy now, I feel good. I don’t have to worry about Diabetes anymore.” –Barbara Walker
