2021 Men’s Health Summit

Whittier Street Health Center (“Whittier”) is proud to announce the 21st Annual Men’s Health Summit—an educational forum for men and their families to learn the importance of good health, health care practices, and wellbeing. The theme of this year’s summit is Men Take Action on Holistic Health and COVID-19: Physical, Mental & Economic Wellbeing.

The Summit will congregate approximately 250 men, and their families, to Whittier Street Health Center’s Roxbury campus on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm. The Summit will provide numerous health services including COVID-19 vaccinations and testing, health screenings, HIV testing, a health fair, a keynote speaker address, and a panel discussion featuring healthcare professionals. Moreover, at this year’s summit Whittier will have a special ribbon cutting ceremony recognizing the arrival of its state-of-the-art Mobile Health Unit.

The keynote speaker for the 2021 Men’s Health Summit is Marty Martinez, Chief of Health and Human Services, City of Boston. The 2021 Summit Honorees (“Men’s Health Champions”) are Reverend Christo Kamara, Senior Pastor, St. Paul’s Victory Assembly of God Church; Professor Theodore C. Landsmark, Director, Dukakis Center for Urban Regional Policy, Northeastern University; Eddie Jenkins, JD, Attorney Eddie Jenkins and Associates; Reverend Samuel Acevedo, Associate Pastor, Congregacion Leon De Juda (Lion De Judah); Mr. Ed Gaskin, Executive Director, Greater Grove Hall Main Streets; and, Mr. Leonard Webb, Publisher, Ethnic Online.

A note about Whittier and COVID-19

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in our area, we ask all clients and patients to call ahead before coming to any of our sites. This is for your safety and so we can provide the highest quality of care to you while following CDC guidance for COVID-19. Please call 617-427-1000 for any questions or concerns.

Whittier will provide COVID-19 testing from 10 am to 4 pm on Monday to Friday. Following CDC guidance, we recommend testing if you have a fever AND one of the following three symptoms: cough OR shortness of breath OR sore throat. Please bring your picture identification and your insurance card (if you have insurance).
