Day Engagement Center at Whittier

Day Engagement Center at Whittier, open Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5pm, provides a comfortable, safe space for unhoused and underserved adult men and women. The Day Engagement Center serves to meet individual basic needs and fosters linkage to medical, behavioral health and recovery services. Day Engagement Center staff utilize a therapeutic milieu approach to encourage healthier ways of thinking and to promote healthy lifestyles, while providing access to clinical and medical services. The Center accommodates a maximum of 25 individuals on the premises at any given time.

The Day Engagement Center offers a daily selection of available services and activities, ranging from nurse visits for wound care and health screenings; behavioral health workshops on various topics; sexual health education; harm reduction workshops; meditation and other self-care centered groups. Food and beverage, clothing and personal hygiene supplies are available to all Day Engagement Center participants.

A note about Whittier and COVID-19

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in our area, we ask all clients and patients to call ahead before coming to any of our sites. We are working to take care of most clients/patients via phone/video encounter so we can meet your ongoing healthcare needs. Whittier will provide COVID-19 testing from 10 am to 4 pm on Monday to Friday. Following CDC guidance, we recommend testing if you have a fever AND one of the following three symptoms: cough OR shortness of breath OR sore throat. Please bring your picture identification and your insurance card (if you have insurance).
