National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

On March 10, 2025, Whittier Street Health Center joins the nation in recognizing National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD) a day dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls and advocating for prevention, education, and support.

The Impact of HIV/AIDS on Women and Girls

HIV/AIDS continues to affect women and girls at alarming rates, particularly among communities of color. According to the CDC, nearly one in four people living with HIV in the U.S. are women. Barriers such as stigma, lack of healthcare access, and social disparities make prevention and treatment more challenging.

Prevention, Testing, and Support

At Whittier Street Health Center, we are committed to breaking down these barriers by offering:

On March 10 from 12pm-3pm, we encourage everyone to join us for an engaging tabling event to raise awareness about HIV prevention, treatment, and resources available for women and girls. Stop by to learn about PrEP, testing, and services at WSHC. Together, we can work toward a future free of HIV!

For more information, call our Testing Line (617) 308-0060.  To learn about the services of our Infectious Disease and Special Populations Department, call (617) 9893149.
