Women for Whittier Holiday Tea 2025

This year’s event theme is ‘Challenges and Solutions for Gender Equality’ and we are honored to have Su Joun, the Principal of Diversity@Workplace Consulting Group LLC, an organization that that works to diversify workforce and create inclusive, equitable work environments through consultation and training, as our keynote speaker. Alongside Su Joun, we are proud to honor the following women with Women for Whittier awards in recognition of their exceptional advocacy and unwavering support for Whittier and its community:

  • Apefa Ashiagbor, Chief Enterprise Applications Officer at Massachusetts Office of Health and Human Services
  • Loretta Keane, Former CFO, Arcadia
  • Brittany Johnson, Investigative Journalist at WCVB Channel 5
  • Marisol Garcia, Esq., Deputy Director, Health Law Advocates
  • Jean Yang, President & CEO, Vinfen

The world has seen important progress in gender equality that has transformed the lives of women and girls across the globe. While this is cause for celebration, the push for equality is losing ground. Despite notable advancements, only 87 countries have ever been led by a woman, and tragically, a woman or girl is killed every 10 minutes by a partner or family member. Digital technology and artificial intelligence continue to spread harmful stereotypes, while the digital gender gap limits women’s opportunities.

With your support, Whittier can continue to stand beside the women who need us most, offering care, advocacy, and hope.
