HIV Prevention
The outreach and prevention component of our programming uses two Center for Disease Control Evidence Based Guidelines – Voices and Community PROMISE. Community PROMISE has a male target population and uses peer advocates and stories populated from the communities in which outreach is done to highlight risky behaviors and initiate conversations and contemplation about possible risk behavior. Voices is a group-level, single-session video-based intervention designed to increase condom use and negotiation among heterosexual African American and Latino men and women. These sessions take place in the clinic and at local organizations with whom we partner with to promote HIV prevention including community based organizations, schools, homeless shelters, and prison reentry halfway homes.
