Community Health Programs

Trauma Services/PTSD treatment and support

Violence is widely recognized as a major public health issue.  Whittier’s Trauma services are designed to help victims process and express feelings about trauma while also working on community-wide prevention and intervention.

Whittier’s Behavioral Health Department partners with Madison Park Development Corporation’s VIP team to serve as the Roxbury Neighborhood Trauma Team (NTT).  The NTT provides response, connection to resources and support to individuals, families and the community as a whole, when impacted by incidents of community violence and trauma.

These services are also provide support to other Whittier Mission Based Services – Whittier Youth Services Enrichment Program, Domestic Violence Prevention and Support, DecisionArts for at risk girls, and Defending Childhood.
