Annual MLK Day of Service

  • January 19, 2025

Post-Event Summary: Whittier Street Health Center’s Annual MLK Day of Service

This year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service at Whittier Street Health Center was a resounding success! In the spirit of Dr. King’s legacy of community care and service, we were honored to distribute more than 800 winter coats and accessories to patients in need.

The event included a speech by Frederica M. Williams, President and CEO, a panel discussion by community members and a presentation on the legacy of Dr. King by Carolyn Reynolds, Associate Director of Behavioral Health, Adult and Substance Use Services. The event was attended by over 800 patients and community members. It was heartwarming to see the smiles on the faces of individuals and families who received these essential items.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to this initiative—your generosity and commitment made this day possible. Together, we are building a healthier, stronger community, one act of kindness at a time.

Let’s continue to honor Dr. King’s vision by uplifting and supporting one another throughout the year.
