Health Fair Success!

The BTDA and Whittier St. Health Center held our annual “Driving for Wellness” health fair at the Logan Airport Taxi Pool on November 6. It was a smashing success. Sorel Bertrand , the Men’s Health Coordinator at Whittier St. Health Center said, “It was a beautiful day, the sun was out, and everybody was happy. More than 100 men received health information; 83 men filled out the health screenings sheet; 80 men did blood pressure screening, and 58 men did glucose screening.”

The BTDA Organizing Committee partnered with Whittier St. Health Center to organize the health fair. This was the fourth health fair with Whittier St. Health Center since 2009. Massport has been a consistent supporter of the health fairs and this year provided space and a bus for health screenings. We look forward to future “Driving for Wellness” events in 2014. Thank you to our friends at Whittier St. Health Center of Roxbury for another great event!

A note about Whittier and COVID-19

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in our area, we ask all clients and patients to call ahead before coming to any of our sites. We are working to take care of most clients/patients via phone/video encounter so we can meet your ongoing healthcare needs. This is for your safety and so we can provide the highest quality of care to you while following CDC guidance for COVID-19. Please call 617-427-1000 for any questions or concerns.

Whittier will provide COVID-19 testing from 10 am to 4 pm on Monday to Friday. Following CDC guidance, we recommend testing if you have a fever AND one of the following three symptoms: cough OR shortness of breath OR sore throat. Please bring your picture identification and your insurance card (if you have insurance).
