Our President & CEO, Frederica M. Williams, was presented with the Lowell L. Richards 111 Champion in Housing Award by our partner, Metro Housing Boston. In our primary service area in Roxbury, a 2017 Boston Public Health Commission report noted that over 82% of residents in Roxbury were renters and 56% paid more than 30% of their income to rent. The rates in Roxbury have contributed to a high level of housing instability for families and student transiency in the public schools, and we know the pandemic has widened the gap.
