Whittier Street Health Center hosted its Annual Back to School BBQ on Friday, August 23.  Over 700 patients and community residents came together to celebrate the end of our Children’s Enrichment Summer program and to enjoy food, popcorn, ice cream, as well as bouncy houses, inflatable basketball hoops, mobile video game truck, talent show, and onsite crafts provided by the MFA.

Thanks to the generous support of Tufts Health Plan and GE, 600 children received free back packs stuffed with school supplies – setting them up for success in the upcoming school year.

Tufts Health Plan also contributed a photo booth and a public art mural, while GE provided volunteers who staffed the grill and helped hand out all the great food.

We send a huge thank you to all our staff, sponsors, and volunteers (especially the Youth Department for once again putting together a great event).  Best of luck to all the students this upcoming school year!
