Whittier Street Health Center’s “Building Vibrant Communities” program awarded the Mayoral Prize for Innovations in Primary Care in a community setting
The City of Boston Mayor’s Office awarded Whittier Street Health Center’s “Building Vibrant Communities” program the Mayoral Prize for Innovations in Primary Care in a community setting. The program is a partnership with the Boston Housing Authority to improve health outcomes for residents of public housing by addressing social and environmental determinents of health.

On Monday, October 3, the GE Foundation presented Whittier Street Health Center with a $250,000 to support access to primary care for underserved women in Boston. Part of the Developing Health Program, Whittier joined Lynn Community Health Center as the two recipients in the Boston area.
