Mark Your Calendars for Our Back to School BBQ

It’s fun, festive, and free for Whittier Street Health Center patients – our annual Back to School BBQ.

Scheduled from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11th at our 1290 Tremont Street, Roxbury address, this event is always a hit with the Whittier community.

In addition to plenty of food, backpacks and school supplies will be provided for children under the age of 18 – but parents must have their child/children present to get the goods!

We know that some of our young patients will get that “deer in the headlights” look on their faces at the thought of anything related to going back to school, but we view this yearly event as a sort of “opening day” to an exciting new school year.

We recognize that back to school jitters are normal for many children. Some may be starting at a new school; others may be entering pre-school or kindergarten or their first middle or high school years. That’s why it’s important to introduce the start of the new school season with a fun event that can be associated with heading back to the classroom.

So, join us on August 11th for great food, lively conversation, awesome backpacks and classroom supplies– we promise not to talk about school too much!

A note about Whittier and COVID-19

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in our area, we ask all clients and patients to call ahead before coming to any of our sites. We are working to take care of most clients/patients via phone/video encounter so we can meet your ongoing healthcare needs. This is for your safety and so we can provide the highest quality of care to you while following CDC guidance for COVID-19. Please call 617-427-1000 for any questions or concerns.

Whittier will provide COVID-19 testing from 10 am to 4 pm on Monday to Friday. Following CDC guidance, we recommend testing if you have a fever AND one of the following three symptoms: cough OR shortness of breath OR sore throat. Please bring your picture identification and your insurance card (if you have insurance).
