Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month: A Look at Whittier Street Health Center’s Eye Care Program
August is Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month; an important observance as good vision is crucial for a child’s development. From learning to read to participating in sports, clear sight impacts every aspect of a child’s life. Unfortunately, many vision problems in children go unnoticed. Conditions such as low vision, nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism can affect a child’s ability to succeed in school and other activities. That’s why it is vital to prioritize regular eye exams and proper eye care from an early age.
At Whittier Street Health Center, we support our community through comprehensive eye care and pediatric programs. Our eye care program provides high-quality, accessible eye health services to children and adults.
With state-of-the-art equipment, we serve all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric patients. Our services address a range of visual problems and eye diseases, including refractive errors, amblyopia, glaucoma management, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye, and other ocular conditions. Our team of experienced optometrists and ophthalmologists collaborates with pediatricians to ensure every child receives the comprehensive eye care they need.
